# Liquidity & Trading

Liquidity for $e-IOU will be bootstrapped on **Best In Slot**, the primary marketplace and DeFi execution layer for Bitcoin-native assets (Ordinals, BRC-20 and BRC2.0).

Once a **$e-IOU / BTC pair** is created on Best In Slot, the token becomes openly tradable against Bitcoin in a fully permissionless way. Anyone can buy or sell $e-IOU using BTC, provide liquidity to the pool, or participate in price discovery directly on Bitcoin infrastructure.

**How trading works in practice**

Trades on Best In Slot are executed through Bitcoin transactions and interpreted by the protocol’s execution layer. This enables:

* Non-custodial trading directly from Bitcoin wallets
* Native BTC liquidity (no bridges, no wrapped assets)
* Transparent, on-chain settlement anchored to Bitcoin

From a buyer/seller perspective, buying or selling $e-IOU feels similar to using a traditional DEX, while final settlement remains secured by Bitcoin.

**Liquidity and execution model**

Best In Slot provides fast interaction and responsive UX by optimistically executing trades as transactions enter the Bitcoin mempool, while final settlement occurs once transactions are confirmed in Bitcoin blocks. This allows for:

* Smooth trading experience
* Continuous price discovery
* Deterministic execution backed by Bitcoin finality

All balances and trades ultimately resolve according to Bitcoin-confirmed transactions, ensuring consistency and security over time.

**Role within the $e-IOU economy**

The availability of a BTC trading pair supports:

* Organic market-driven valuation of $e-IOU
* Liquidity for contributors, participants, and long-term holders
* An open entry and exit point for Mints and new ecosystem participants

This setup allows $e-IOU to remain a long-term coordination and guarantee asset, while still benefiting from transparent and accessible liquidity when needed.
